I've been playing a bit with web components, and using Shoelace (https://shoelace.style/) has been an absolute joy! It's an incredibly complete component library. #webdev #javascript
The EU Commission is planning automatic CSAM scanning of your private communication – or total surveillance in the name of child protection. This would be the worst surveillance apparatus outside of China:

@Graycot That really means a lot! Thank you ❤️. And small world indeed!
I'm not that great at web design so I try to keep things simple and functional 😅
@danirod @atoponce that’s the first thing that came to my mind. Anti competitive as it may be, supporting iOS is basically the main reason developers were forced to support browsers other than Chrome. Google having a complete monopoly over the web is a scary thought.
On the other hand, this might also force Safari to do more to be competitive with Chrome.
@jaredwhite I've also been trying a few apps. The only issue I've had with Metatext (at least on iOS) is that it doesn't seem to handle people having emojis on their names. They tend to shift down and cover part of the text. 😓
I found this article talking about using web components as progressive enhancement: https://cloudfour.com/thinks/web-components-as-progressive-enhancement/
This is exactly how I'm trying to make Felte work with web components! It feels like the best way to share behaviour with vanilla JS while being friendly toward SSR sites. I do hope to eventually see an improvement on SSR support for custom elements using shadow DOM (declarative shadow DOM seems to be the way forward here?)
Getting back to Mastodon, this time trying to use my own instance. (Coming from @pberganza).
Hoping to little by little start posting more about Felte (https://felte.dev) or other web dev stuff here.
I'm a web developer, working mainly on the front-end side with React. Love to experiment with new ways of building web UIs (Svelte, SolidJS, Web Components).
I am the creator of Felte: a "framework agnostic" form management library. I also authored some other small packages.

I'll be trying to use this one as my main one
